McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle

The F-15 is a fighter jet developed mainly for air-combat. In order to excel at air combat, this airplane was designed with small wing loading and a large thrust/weight ratio. It used expensive titanium for light weight construction and a high thrust engine. The engine thrust almost exceeds the weight of the plane, which has become the general objective in the design of fighters jets. Its first flight was in 1972.

This is an updated design from Volume 1 that replaces the metal catapult hook with a paper notch.
