Strega (Modified P-51 Mustang)

This paper airplane is modeled after a famous racing airplane that was based on the P-41 Mustang fighter-bomber. What makes Strega special is that it is a purpose-built speed machine based on the Mustang airframe. The wings were clipped by nearly five feet, the canopy and upper fuselage were streamlined, and the engine was pushed far beyond factory settings. Strega was an 11-time National Champion in the Reno Air Races, achieving speeds of over 500 mph.
