The "Blue Jay" is from the Future of Flight (Vol 4) series. It is a "racer" which means that it was designed to fly fast and far. You'll be surprised by how long this can glide on a simple toss, and then you'll be really amazed when you launch it with a rubber band catapult and watch it almost disappear from sight! This model has a traditional airplane design that is easy to cut out and assemble.
This downloadable PDF file contains all of the instructions and printable plans that you will need to assemble your aircraft. The instructions include suggestions for the best paper and proper glue selection. It has step-by-step assembly instructions and tips for adjusting the final airplane for optimal performance.
You will need cardstock paper, craft glue, scissors and a hobby knife. You will also need a printer that can print onto cardstock paper. Most home printers have this capability. For maximum flight time and distance you may also want to get a rubber band catapult launcher.
